Haul: July & Birthday

Hello everyone! It’s been awhile since my last haul post. It’s not that I haven’t been buying books, it’s just that I bought too many books in June, I didn’t even want to compile them and look at how many I bought. However, I was more in control for July.

For the first 3 weeks of July, I basically didn’t buy any books at all, I was on a book buying ban and borrowed some books from the library instead.

However, my birthday happens to be at the end of July, so I decided to buy myself some birthday presents (excuses, I know). Aside from that, I received a few books for my birthday as well that I’ll be including in this haul! Also, on a side note, this post contains affiliate links.

So first, I picked up the hardbacks of TOG series. I already own the paperback version of Throne of Glass, but I finally got the chance to read Throne of Glass this month and I fell in love. I knew that I needed the hardbacks of these books ASAP. So I got the hardcover of Throne of Glass [Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository], Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas [Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository], Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas [Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository], and The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas [Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository].

I also got Fairest by Marissa Meyer [Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository], a companion novel for the Lunar Chronicles series I also started this month!

My new release buy for the month was Between Us and The Moon by Rebecca Maizel
[Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository], a contemporary romance novel (I think) that I know nothing about. It was a total cover buy, no justifications here.

I also got Losing It by Cara Carmack [Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository], which I’ve heard mixed things about, but I was really intrigued to read it myself! The ebook was too expensive so I decided to just pick up the hard copy.

Continuing my Colleen Hoover collection, I got a copy of Confess by Colleen Hoover, [Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository]. I just need a few more of her books and my collection will be complete! At least for now….

Last but not least, I also pre-ordered Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid [Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository], which is dated to be released August 4th. Since I pre-ordered, I guess Amazon shipped it out as soon as they received stock so I already received this book in the 3rd week of July! Which was exciting because I didn’t expect it to come so early….

Now, onto the birthday presents…!!!

My parents got me three books: A Court of Thorns & Roses by Sarah J. Maas [Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository],
Broken Hearts, Fences & Other Things To Mend by Katie Finn [Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository] & Off The Page by Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer [Goodreads // Amazon // Book Depository].

I already own Broken Hearts book but there was a cover change so I had to get the new cover unfortunately… Besides that, my sister also got me the 5th book in the Harry Potter series so my HP series is finally complete… yay!

I am pretty proud of myself for not going too crazy like I did in June. I bought so many books in June that I couldn’t even put together a haul… I’m sure August will be even better — or so I hope.

Thanks for joining me today! How many books did you get in July?

Love, Jeanette

  1. All the restraint you showed is applaudable!!! You are my idol! I wish I could do that haha
All the hard backs look so nice!! I have the white paperbacks version but I’ve preordered the red hardback of queen of shadows (so my series is going to be uniform 😦 The hardbacks look awesome though I like them better 🙂 That’s exciting about Never Always Sometimes – I saw it at the bookshop the other day so it must have been released early like every where, I’ll wait to hear how you like it before I buy a copy. Have a great time reading and I hope you had a good birthday 🙂

  2. I have total hardback envy! Fantastic haul and I hope you had a great birthday. Wish you an August filled with books– but not more than a bank account can manage 😉

  4. I have the same struggles, thank the Lord for libraries! The Throne of Glass books seem so popular I’ll have to give them a go. Hope you had a great birthday and I look forward to hear what you think of the books 🙂
